What is Synx Data Labs and Apache Cloudberry?
Apache Cloudberry is an open-source project, owned and managed by the Apache Software Foundation, under the Apache 2.0 license. Synx Data Labs is a U.S. company building next-generation MPP data infrastructure with Apache Cloudberry at its core. Synx helps global enterprises run faster, more elastic analytics while lowering total cost of ownership — supported by our worldwide partner network.

What is the relationship between Synx and Apache Cloudberry?
There is no direct ownership between the two. The team members of Synx are the among the founding members of Apache Cloudberry and have been taking active roles in building up the open-source community together with a wider range of contributors.

What is the difference between SynxDB and Cloudberry?
SynxDB is built on Apache Cloudberry as its core and offers a wider range of enterprise-level features including cloud-native elasticity, management console, tenant management, backup and disaster recovery, HTAP, K8S, full-text search, vector base and vetorization, ecosystem connectors, etc. Also SynxDB offers enterprise-level technical support and SLA with our global partner network to ensure data security and stability. Can you help me to migrate from other databases?
Yes. SynxDB is natively compatible with Greenplum and has efficient tools for data migration. Also we have worked with our clients to migrate from databases including Oracle, Vertica, DB2, Snowflake, etc. We provide migration guides, connectors, and partner-led services to simplify lift-and-shift or hybrid strategies. Our goal is to minimize downtime and risk while preserving business continuity.

How can I deploy SynxDB?
SynxDB supports cloud, on-prem, and hybrid deployments. It’s built to integrate with container orchestration (Kubernetes) and common cloud storage systems so you can pick the architecture that matches your compliance and operational needs.​

Do you offer a managed or hosted version?

Security is among our highest priorities. SynxDB supports standard enterprise controls, including network isolation, authentication/authorization hooks, Transparent Data Encryption(TDE), etc., and can be deployed to meet your organization’s compliance posture.
